Nelson Electric is looking for dependable Registered Electrical Apprentices in our Carroll office to work on various projects in Western Iowa. We are seeking candidates who have the proven ability to be on time , demonstrate a great work ethic , and are willing to learn continuously throughout their career. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Experience bending EMT pipe
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, crawl, bend or kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs overhead, and routinely lift 100 lbs to waist height
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Ability to wear all PPE required (PPE supplied by the company)
  • Ability to work in all-weather temperatures/climates
  • Must be able to pass a background check, and post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems including the layout, rough-in, and trim of lighting, power, and low voltage systems
  • Follow all safety procedures and engage in safety training
  • Use equipment safely and return in good condition
  • Assist with materials management, including jobsite and service materials, and returns
  • Manage time with respect to tasks and deadlines
  • Maintain jobsite and vehicle cleanliness
  • Adhere to the National Electrical Code including any local amendments
  • Participate in the Apprenticeship Training Program
  • Train junior employees on materials, techniques, and methods as needed
