About The Position

We are looking to hire a seasonal employee for our Aqua Aerobics Instructor position for May through September. As an Aquatic Aerobics Instructor for the Sandburg Pool (managed by FFC Old Town) you will be responsible for instructing group exercise classes in accordance with class description set by Regional Group Fitness Manager. Classes consist of a warm-up, conditioning and cool-down phase. Classes are Monday-Friday at 10:00am-11:00am, Tuesday has an additional evening class from 6:00pm-7:00pm, and Saturday at 10:30am-11:30am. Availability during one or many of these class times is required.

Requirements

Certification as a Group Fitness Instructor by a nationally-recognized organization
Certified in field of specialty in Aquatic
Current CPR/AED Certification (or equivalent)
1-2+ years of teaching experience

Responsibilities

Arrive at class at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the scheduled class and set up speaker, yoga mat and pool equipment (all provided)
Begin and end class on time, this is very important.
Instruct classes (including a warm-up, conditioning and cool down phase) in specialization and approved by Group Fitness Manager and/or Fitness Director
Provide instruction and coaching to class attendees
Accurately record class participation and conduct class surveys at the end of the class
Ensure that pool area is clean and returned to original state at the end of each class making sure all necessary equipment is put away
