About The Position

The Kroc Aquatics Supervisor (KAS) will work in conjunction with the Kroc Aquatics Manager to ensure successful operation of the aquatics department. This role includes (but is not limited to) day-to-day oversight of the department’s staffing component; development and delivery of the center’s swim lessons programs (open to all age groups and abilities), use of the pool area, continuing education offerings (i.e. CPR/AED, WSI certification) for the public, and class exercise offerings (in collaboration with the fitness department). The KAS will work with the Aquatics Manager to maintain exceptional standards of service, facility cleanliness, and pool related maintenance, assist in preparing the center for inspections and licensing of the Aquatics department. The KAS will work in conjunction with Aquatics leadership, the Operations team and the entire aquatics team to establish departmental plans and financial goals related to ancillary services, striving to excel with these plans on an annual basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the development and execution of successful aquatic programs.
  • Current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and WSI certifications.
  • Willingness and understanding of the need to work nontraditional hours in support of the programs/services offered at the Philadelphia Kroc Center.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work with all ethnic and socio-economic populations.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills.
  • Must meet the Child Protection Clearances requirements by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 prior to employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Sports and/or Recreation Management, or related field preferred.
