About The Position

World Industries, Inc. (AWI) has a job opportunity to join the Chicago, IL sales team as an Architectural & Design Sales Manager. Reporting to the Regional Specification Manager, the Architectural & Design Sales Manager interacts with architects, designers, consultants, owners, distribution, contractors, and facility managers to influence the specification of Armstrong Commercial Ceiling, Wall and Specialty Systems. Working together with other members of the sales team, this role is responsible for meeting or exceeding the sales budget regarding price, volume, and mix to drive improved business results. Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability and experience to effectively manage multiple relationships and priorities.
  • Ability and experience to plan effectively, both short and long term.
  • Knowledge of specification sales, market segments, customers, contracting, and distribution channels.
  • Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • High School Diploma/GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Construction Science or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of architectural sales experience preferred.
  • Experience with SalesForce.com
  • Proven success in architectural selling
  • Knowledge of construction industry
  • Strong work ethic, desire to learn, and coachable

Responsibilities

  • Achieving the territory’s sales goals and growing the business by increasing market share, improving product mix, increasing average unit price, sales, volume, mix, and introducing new products.
  • Influencing people who make the specification decisions and have a positive influence on others’ behavior.
  • Assisting architects and designers in writing specifications for Armstrong Commercial Ceilings, Suspension Systems, Architectural Specialties, and wall systems.
  • Interacting with architects, distributors, contractors, and facility managers to influence the specification and purchases of Armstrong Commercial Ceilings and Wall solutions.
  • Tracking projects in SalesForce.com with the Armstrong team members to establish plans for selling Armstrong products and solutions.
  • Growing the business and increasing market share by creating customer value and competitive advantage.
  • Learning and continuously improving through individual and team learning and development initiatives.
