About The Position

Provide oversight and supervision in assigned Workforce & Education programs. Manage daily program operations, supervise staff, monitor program expenditures, and staff payroll processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The duties listed are intended only as illustrative examples of the various types of work that may be performed by individuals in this classification. Under direction of the Operations Manager, coordinate and monitor assigned program components to ensure compliance with program, department, and agency standards, policies, procedures, and budgetary constraints. Supervise assigned personnel. For example: assist in recruitment and selection, assign duties and workloads at individual offices, develop office work schedules, provide technical assistance to line staff, facilitate and coordinate team staff meetings, check and submit payroll and other required agency paperwork, assist with budgets and implement program-wide staff training. Create, maintain, and report on program performance data. Lead process change to improve program operations and outcomes. Ensure coordination and collaboration among staff and with community partners. Build and maintain working relationships with employers, educators, economic developers, local elected officials, and representatives from other community-based organizations. Provide participant and business services to meet funder requirements. Coordinate and implement special projects assigned by the Operations Manager. Supervise staff at multiple sites, travelling from location to location in the CSC service area. Provide backup to Operations Manager and office coverage as needed. Regular attendance and punctuality required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, education, public administration or related field, with at least one year practical experience in the development, delivery, planning or assessment of social service or education related programs, or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability: to supervise subordinates, provide leadership, assign and monitor tasks.
  • to facilitate coordination and cooperation between a wide variety of groups and individuals.
  • to understand and apply program, department and agency policies and procedures.
  • to perform work with initiative and independent judgment within guidelines.
  • to use resourcefulness and tact in public contacts.
  • to maintain complex records and prepare accurate reports.
  • to communicate effectively; both written and oral.
  • to gather, assess, analyze, and develop recommendations from relevant program data.
  • Proficient with MS Office programs.
  • Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, a conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify an individual from this classification.
  • Possessing and maintaining a current Oregon driver’s license and insurance levels consistent with ORS 806.010 is a requirement of the job.
