Job Description As a Security Guard - Armed Civic Patrol Driver in Clinton, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support staff and visitors with clear communication, report concerns, and respond to situations with professionalism and integrity. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical events, alarms, and requests for assistance.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access through designated entrances, verify identification and authorization, and follow visitor management procedures as required by post orders.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and other systems as assigned, and communicate status updates to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform entry screening and contraband awareness checks as directed by post orders, and report prohibited items and suspicious behavior through the proper chain of command.
  • Maintain visible presence and enforce site rules in a professional manner while interacting with staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and patrol observations in written reports and/or electronic logs with accurate, timely details.
  • Coordinate with Allied Universal supervision and on-site personnel during routine operations and during escalated events.
  • Support transportation and movement activities on site as assigned, such as escorting authorized individuals and maintaining controlled routes.
  • Maintain readiness of assigned equipment, including radio, flashlight, and issued defensive equipment, and report malfunctions or shortages.
  • Follow use of force, weapons handling, and escalation procedures in accordance with training, licensing requirements, and site-specific policies.
