About The Position

Guardcorps Security & Investigations is a professional security services provider dedicated to protecting people, property, and businesses throughout Connecticut. We are currently seeking a professional and dependable Armed Security Officer to join our team in Milford, CT. The Armed Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong situational awareness, and excellent judgment while carrying out assigned security duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent
18 years of age or older
Valid Connecticut Security Guard License
Valid Connecticut Armed Security Permit (Blue Card)
Strong observational and communication skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
Must pass a background check and drug screening
Reliable transportation to the Milford area
Good working knowledge of Security Operations.
Understanding of Safety Practices in a Business environment.
Ability to provide a high level of Customer Service.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Be computer proficient
Read, understand, and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing in communicating with the public and co-workers, giving and receiving instructions
High attention to detail
Ability to work in various environments, including but not limited to adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain, and heat.
Must be able to work as part of a team.
Must be able to manage stressful situations and maintain their own composure throughout.
Must maintain ethical conduct at all times.
Must be able to communicate instructions clearly and concisely.

Nice To Haves

Prior armed security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned property and monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or violations of rules
Maintain a visible security presence to deter criminal activity
Control access to the property by verifying identification and authorizations
Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies
Write detailed incident and activity reports
Communicate effectively with management, clients, and local law enforcement when necessary
Enforce company and client policies in a professional manner
