Job Description As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Sentinel in Homestead, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and assist riders and staff with professional customer service. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and respond to situations with integrity and teamwork. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma/GED.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transit locations.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of stations, platforms, transit centers, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or suspicious behavior.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, accidents, and requests for assistance, and coordinate with transit personnel and law enforcement as needed.
  • Control access to restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and monitor cameras and/or alarms to help to deter unauthorized entry and support security-related operations.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and evidence documentation as required by Allied Universal and site policies, including preserving scenes and maintaining chain of custody when applicable.
