About The Position

Peraton is seeking an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) knowledgeable Mid-Career Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical High Performance Computing (HPC) program of national importance. This cutting-edge program encompasses everything from HPC test planning and execution, to architecture design, prototyping, and vendor collaboration. Technical areas span commercial cloud technologies, HPC, and enterprise architecture directly supporting the success of U.S. national security objectives. As a Systems Engineer, you will: Provide engineering support across the full system lifecycle, including requirements elicitation, analysis, and allocation. Conduct systems requirements reviews, develop concepts of operations, and establish interface standards. Design and integrate complex hardware/software systems while performing technical and non-technical assessments. Perform end-to-end flow analysis to ensure seamless integration of program capabilities.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 14+ years of systems engineering experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering or related discipline and 10+ years of systems engineering experience
  • OR
  • Master’s degree or PhD in an accredited engineering or related discipline and 8+ years of systems engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Cloud Architecture/ Cloud Engineer/ Platform Engineering (especially in AWS)
  • AI/ML system design and implementation
  • High-level understanding of the AI lifecycle (development, training, inference, monitoring)
  • Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps
  • Experience with Amazon SageMaker is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholder groups, ability to proactively engage with these groups to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions
  • System security and networking (particularly the implementation of system security on classified systems)
  • Data engineering and data lifecycle management
