About The Position

The Artificial Intelligence Project Manager applies expanded knowledge of project management, AI initiatives, and stakeholder coordination to ensure the successful delivery of AI programs. This role works independently with moderate supervision, managing multiple concurrent AI projects and handling moderately complex coordination challenges. The incumbent may coach junior staff on project processes and serve as a central point of coordination across technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, information technology, or related field (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or project coordination
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing technology or AI-related initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently
  • Experience working with technical teams and translating between technical and business audiences
  • Strong proficiency in project management tools (Jira, Asana, Monday.com, MS Project, or similar)
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycle
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
  • Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
  • Ability to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems or situations
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar project management certification preferred
  • Financial services or credit union experience preferred
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts and terminology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent AI projects, coordinating timelines, resources, and deliverables
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation
  • Track project progress against milestones, identifying and mitigating risks proactively
  • Coordinate with AI engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders on project execution
  • Monitor project health metrics, including budget, schedule variance, and quality indicators
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives for AI development teams
  • Serve as a central communication hub between the AI team, business units, and leadership
  • Prepare and deliver project status updates, presentations, and executive summaries
  • Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and consultants on project activities
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve dependencies and coordination issues
  • Present project outcomes and demonstrate AI capabilities to business audiences
  • Maintain project documentation, including charters, requirements, and lessons learned
  • Manage project management tools, collaboration platforms, and shared documentation
  • Document project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests
  • Support procurement processes for AI tools, platforms, and vendor services
  • Ensure compliance with project management standards and organizational policies
  • Identify opportunities to improve project coordination processes and workflows
  • Guide junior team members on project management practices
  • Support the onboarding of new team members and maintain operational documentation
  • Contribute to project management best practices and template development
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
  • Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
  • Complete annual compliance and info security training to understand employees' role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs
