About The Position

Crispelli’s Bakery is a growing retail and wholesale bakery looking for a daytime bread baker. We specialize in artisan style breads and pastries including naturally leavened hearth breads, pan breads, rolls, viennoiserie, cookies, quiche, cakes, and more. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about the craft of artisan baking, being part of a close-knit team, and continuously learning and improving their skillset. Previous experience in bread production and bread baking is required. Our Evening Bread Baker is required to bake all the bread produced on that production day. They will operate a 4-deck stone oven that has an automated loader and a rotating double rack oven. Breads to be baked include various sizes of loaves, boulles, baguettes, and a variety of buns and dinner rolls.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to maintain good working relationships with team members

Responsibilities

  • Assessing the status of the breads in their cycle and when they are ready for bake
  • Loading, unloading and baking all bread in production
  • Properly scoring breads
  • Managing proofing based on time management of the ovens
  • Baking breads using both rack and deck ovens
  • Maintaining communication with other bakers and management to ensure that all responsibilities and expectations are being met
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work space and ensuring that all cleaning checklists are complete at the end of each shift.
