Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from an accredited four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • BPCS business system software, including financial, inventory, and order processing modules; RPG, CL, RPG400, ILE, CLP, SQL/400, NGS Development software; MS Office software.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with end users to gather information about program/report needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
  • Monitors BPCS system for problems and corrects as needed
  • Monitors BPCS backup and restore procedures
  • Reviews nightly job processes and corrects issues within BPCS system
  • Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
  • Writes and maintains technical documentation.
  • Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs.
  • Develops and maintains plans outlining steps and time tables for developing programs.
  • Researches and evaluates software and hardware to assist in programming or to use as program platforms.
  • Designs and codes screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems.
  • Converts designs and specifications into computer code.
  • Compiles code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process.
  • Creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
  • Receive and review user requests via IT Helpdesk for system/software modifications
  • Trains end users and provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions.
  • Installs and tests programs and monitors performance of programs after implementation.
  • Create and maintain generated reports using system tools
