About The Position

Under direct supervision, Student Assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized, in a variety of positions that typically require the use of manual, clerical, public contact, and/or analytical skill. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgment. Work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Under the general direction of the Special Consultant of the Asian Language BTEP Consortium, research assistants’ responsibilities include: 10% Attend team meetings and assist with meeting preparation or follow-up tasks. 10% Provide support for ongoing projects and related activities. 30% Assist with data collection, entry, organization, and basic record maintenance. 40% Support preparation of written materials, summaries, and program documentation. 5% Maintain files and process routine documentation in accordance with department procedures.

Requirements

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester or who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated) or who is registered for the subsequent semester, in good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation or academic dismissal).
  • Only students with Federal Work Study awards are being considered for this role at this point in time.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position.
  • In accordance with the California State University (CSU) Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is a state entity whose business operations reside within the State of California and requires hiring employees to perform CSU related work within the State of California
