A kind and busy downtown-based family of six is looking to add a full-time or par-time nanny to their team. The family has has four children (ages 4, 3, and 6-month-old twins) but the main focus will be the non-verbal 3 year old. The family already has one full-time caregiver and is in the process of adding another to their team. The role can be Monday through Friday or weekend hours and is completely open dependent on the candidates availability. They are looking for a candidate who is fluent in American Sign Language. The family is looking for the best and willing to compensate appropriately. The three-year-old has special needs and receives PT, speech therapy, and other supportive therapies, and a significant amount of time is spent taking to/from appointments and working on developmental goals at home - candidates will be expected to support this setup moving forward. Candidates should ideally have experience working with children with special needs or a background in fields such as physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), speech therapy, or special education. Drawing on this experience, they should be able to thoughtfully structure the toddler’s time and actively support his developmental progress. The family are looking for someone who is collaborative, warm, and engaging—someone who connects easily with children and brings a genuine love for working with them. A candidate who can balance consistency with flexibility—following therapeutic routines while adapting to the child’s pace—will thrive in this role. Patience, positivity, kindness and a proactive approach to supporting developmental milestones are essential, as is the ability to create engaging, supportive experiences that help the child build skills and confidence on his own time-line.
