About The Position

The Assembler II is responsible for installing, connecting, fitting, and bonding basic to moderately complex assemblies using layout, hand, power, and pneumatic tools, adhesives, and fasteners per company and customer requirements in a consistent and efficient manner. The Assembler II aligns components with jigs or fixtures, utilizes various measuring instruments, performs light electrical bonding, and is familiar with many process specifications. The Assembler II is reliable, knowledgeable, and sufficiently skilled in assembly standards and duties.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Composite Manufacturing
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Aircraft Assembly
  • Intermediate skill in composite bonding, sealing, and potting compounds
  • Knowledge and understanding of process specifications and manufacturing plan interpretation
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and safety
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and technical drawings
  • Ability to use complex and basic hand and pneumatic tools to drill, countersink, fit, rivet, and finish parts
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to process information and problem-solve accordingly
  • Ability to assist other team members as required
  • Use of general math concepts (add, subtract, multiply, and divide), the Standard unit of measurement, and coordinating tools

Responsibilities

  • Trim, drill, countersink, and ream metal and composite details with tooling/aids
  • Wet and dry installation of permanent and non-permanent fasteners with tooling/aids
  • Perform basic electrical bonding applications
  • Apply decorative laminate and pressure sensitive tapes
  • Measure, mix, and apply adhesives, epoxies, potting compounds, and moldable shims
  • Assist with cross-training other team members as required
  • Bond and assemble medium to large and/or moderately complex assemblies with tooling/aids
  • Complete work with quality and accuracy; completing and following all documentation provided
  • Self-manage time and workflow through personal work area
  • Perform basic rework, repairs, and assemblies with efficiency and consistency
  • Maintain material quantities and operation requirements (Acceptance Authority Media) throughout all work
  • Maintain a safe, organized, FOD-free work area with a focus on lean principles as instructed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
