Overview The Assembler II performs both routine and semi-routine assembly tasks which include sub-assemblies, assembling some final products, packaging, water spider, and checks parts for quality and function.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot problems when necessary.
  • Must be able to operate the required hand tools and fixtures.
  • Able to interpret standard work assembly drawings (SWAD), production order paperwork, test instructions, and quality checklists.
  • Typically requires 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis.
  • Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively.
  • Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
  • Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and /or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine assembly tasks, working independently with the aid of standard work assembly drawings (SWADs), such as: Assembles electrical and mechanical components and any additional routine sub-assemblies.
  • Packages products while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Water Spider (inventory movement support): facilitates workflow, including stocking bins, pallets, cardboard, and general material handling.
  • Builds final product.
  • Works with area manufacturing engineers (ME’s)
  • Frequently operates tools/equipment such as hand tools, pneumatics tools, testing equipment, fixtures, and high voltage dielectric testing while using required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines.
  • Routinely follows work and test instructions to perform tasks.
  • May be required to interpret the results of certain tests and at times may troubleshoot and repair assemblies as necessary.
  • Achieves and maintains established safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Must not pose a risk to self or others.
  • Assembler II is in the process of learning to build an entire product or line and may train less experienced Assemblers.
