About The Position

A day in the life You arrive to the line before the first cycle, scan yesterdays logs, and prioritize your morning: a pneumatic leak on a turntable, a bowl feeder tune-up, and a PLC fault that only shows up during changeover. By mid-morning youve rebuilt a subassembly, verified sensors, and coached an operator through a quick reset. After lunch, you review a new machine design, approve tweaks for serviceability, and join a tryout on a prototype to validate reliability and throughput. Before you leave, you close out work orders, update records, and flag a continuous-improvement idea that eliminates a recurring jam. Role overview As our Assembly Automation Maintenance Specialist, you keep semi-automatic assembly equipment at peak performance through hands-on repair, preventive care, and thoughtful troubleshooting. You support production teams across departments with prompt technical assistance and uphold company standards for safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineer Manager or designee.

  • Experience: 4+ years in manufacturing; at least 2 years in plant maintenance.
  • Technical depth: Proven troubleshooting and repair across hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLCs.
  • Skills: Strong cross-functional communication; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; trained and authorized to operate a forklift safely.
  • Physical demands Extended periods of sitting and standing. Frequent walking, including long distances. Repetitive motions and material handling, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Respond quickly to requests from production and partner departments, ensuring clear, cross-functional communication.
  • Champion safety: follow standards, escalate hazards immediately, and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) during all service activities.
  • Apply Lean tools and techniques to remove waste and enhance productivity.
  • Participate in new equipment design reviews, machine approvals, and tryouts; assist in prototype product development.
