The Assembly Operator will read and decipher schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions and positions or aligns components and parts manually, then using hand tools and machines to assemble parts. The Operator uses glues, solder, and mechanical fastening devices to connect sub-assemblies together, performs quality checks on completed components, and updates workflow documents. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Solder, braze and assemble high quality/high reliability electro-mechanical assemblies for the military and commercial markets. In addition, process, inspect, test, audit and perform surveillance to insure parts, finished product and processes meet visual, dimensional, mechanical and/or electrical specifications. Read and understand work instructions. Solder small to large components parts. Assemble components using screws, nuts, washers, and various hand tools. Brazing in hydrogen furnace. Cleaning soldered parts and boards in vapor degreaser. Process, inspect, test, brand, package and ship finished product. Maintain legible and accurate quality records. These may include but not limited to process and assembly travelers, scrap reporting documents, product traceability tags, test/inspection status documents and initial design and life test data. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with supervisor to meet customer needs. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Perform other duties as assigned.
