About The Position

Works with other team members to produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies, and/or completes kitting, assembly and packaging processes according to established operating procedures and/or customer specifications. This position is responsible for maintaining the facilities inside and outside. The position will ensue that all trailer bets are unloaded and built properly. Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend measuring tools such as a tape measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be willing to learn and practice continuous improvement techniques such as, but not limited to, 5S and set-up reduction.
  • The ability to participate and lead in a team-oriented environment with the willingness to assist and train others.
  • Demonstrate safe behavior and support department/plant safety goals in a continuous improvement process.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends before and after schedule as needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • The ability to write routine reports and correspondence, as well as speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Read, learn, understand and interpret blueprints and work instructions, and other instructions written or verbal, to complete assembly of products or components according to established guidelines and quality standards
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete mechanical assembly of components or products, and prepare products and other items for shipment
  • Inspect and test parts and products as necessary, during or after assembly, according to established guidelines and quality standards.
  • Maintain the facility by organizing and clean trailer yard, warehouse, building slab, compressor room and any other areas that need attention
  • Operate tractor and forklift to pull, organize, stage boat trailers and unload/load trailers and pallets.
  • Cross Train to other departments as needed
