Assembly & Test/Tech A - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Assembles pneumatic and hydraulic valves, partially or completely, and conducts a variety of tests on systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to acceptance procedures or to determine cause of unit failure by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts high pressure and cryogenic testing safely. Working from blueprints assembles and tests various valves and filters within allotted timeframe and insures conformance with assembly performance tests specifications. Working from blueprints, work orders, quality control test manuals, performance specifications, schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used. Calibrates test instruments according to specifications. Analyzes test results related to the design and test objectives, modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications. Records these test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data and recommendations for changes in product or test method. Compares results with specifications and documents test data. Assembles various quiet disc stacks. Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure. Verifies dimensions of mechanical parts using hand-held measuring equipment such as micrometers, indicators and depth mikes. Verifies dimensions of mechanical parts using hand-held measuring equipment. Knowledge of chem etching (markings), tube bending and how to clean parts in pre-clean. Ability to operate and maintain equipment such as Instron machines, AstroMed and mass spectrometer. Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, quality control personnel and others regarding testing procedures and results to resolve problems. Capable of operating airborne and structure borne noise measurement equipment.
Requirements

- Ability to read and interpret blueprint and schematic drawings.
- Working knowledge of standard test equipment i.e. data recorders, pressure transducers and gauges, flow measuring devices, environmental chambers, thermo-coupling, and helium leak detectors.
- Proficiency in the use of MS software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of plant operations and processes.
- Two year certificate from college or technical school; with three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or a High School Diploma or GED Certificate and five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
