Black & Veatch is seeking an exceptional professional to join our Infrastructure Advisory organization as a Technical Director to deliver strategic asset management projects for our clients and provide thought leadership and drive knowledge management and knowledge transfer. Infrastructure Advisory focuses on the lifecycle management of assets, and you will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who are aligned with Black & Veatch’s Purpose, Building a World of Difference. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Deliver innovative solutions to address our client’s most pressing issues, including aging infrastructure, optimizing, asset investments, improving data management and decision making, and enhancing organizational capabilities. Work across multiple industries, including water and wastewater utilities, electric utilities, gas utilities, and in oil and gas industries. Serve as a Technology Leader to grow the technical capabilities of Black & Veatch professionals and to enhance Black & Veatch’s asset management reputation in the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
  • Has successfully managed multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Contributor or leader to acquire new engagements.
  • 12-15+ years in a business/consulting environment.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

  • IAM Certificate or Diploma in Asset Management
  • Professional Engineer and/or IAM Asset Management Professional
  • Member of the Institute of Asset Management or other similar professional body

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of innovative solutions from concept through implementation for client engagements, including: Asset management assessments (including ISO 55001) and development of Strategic Asset Management Plans
  • Asset management program development and implementation
  • Asset investment planning, business case evaluation and capital prioritization
  • Asset management plan development
  • Risk and resilience assessments
  • Enterprise asset management system implementations
  • Serve as the technical advisor to clients and project teams, and as the technical director or technical lead on asset management projects locally and nationally. Provide asset management technical subject matter expertise on projects, apply asset management best practices and recommend solutions to clients.
  • Lead quality reviews of assigned engagements and ensure quality management processes and practices are developed and implemented, and promote a culture that is conducive to quality.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the development of proposals and support business development activities regionally and nationally.
  • Drive asset management technical innovation across Infrastructure Advisory. Lead development of products and/or services in coordination with the Solution.
  • Provide asset management thought leadership. Contribute through presentations, publications, participation in regional/national conferences, and on professional society committees. Lead development of strategies to address technical skill gaps and develop training content. Transfers knowledge, capabilities, and skills to improve others’ knowledge and skill levels.
