The School of Professional Psychology (SOPP) at Spalding University is hiring for two full-time, tenure-track faculty member positions in our clinical PsyD program, a generalist position and a Director of our Neuropsychology Emphasis Area. Fully accredited since 1989, our doctoral program is highly successful, with a strong national reputation. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology, either with or immediate eligibility for licensure in KY as a psychologist. Outstanding postdoctoral candidates may be considered as long as the EPPP (national licensing exam) has been passed at the doctoral level. JOB SUMMARY For the generalist position, we are seeking candidates who possess strong knowledge and skills across multiple competency domains (e.g. assessment, intervention, individual and cultural diversity, research) as well as foundational knowledge domains (biological, cognitive-affective and social bases of behavior). For the Neuropsychology Emphasis Area position, we are seeking candidates who will continue building upon our incredibly strong program, teaching and training in accordance with the Minnesota Conference Guidelines. Both hires will be expected to achieve a strong balance across the three domains of teaching, scholarship, and service. First, they will be strong teachers who utilize best practices in teaching and enjoy student mentoring. Ideally, they will also be competent in supervision and support the operations of our department training clinic, the Center for Behavioral Health (https://behavioralhealth.spalding.edu/). Second, they will be thoughtful scholars with either a record of presenting and/or publishing in their chosen research interest areas or demonstrated promise to do so. Third, they will possess strong interpersonal skills and a cooperative spirit to work collegially with others on university and departmental service committees. The position offers scheduling flexibility (other than class times) and faculty members are encouraged to use up to eight hours per week in research, consultation, direct service (e.g. private practice) and/or supervision. Opportunities are available to engage in direct service as part of our Faculty Practice Plan, where faculty are able to see their own private practice clients in the Center for Behavioral Health. Additional contract supervision for doctoral students on practicum may also be available.
