Job Description Assistant Business Manager Qualifications: 1. Computer skills 2. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Reports To: Superintendent of Education, the Deputy Superintendent, the Business Manager, and the designee of the Superintendent Job Goal: To process and accurately maintain all payroll and financial records and accounts for the school district Mission and Goals Works with the Superintendent, division/school supervisor, and those whom he/she supervises to articulate and promote the school system's vision of learning and teaching Monitors and evaluates progress toward accomplishment of system goals and objectives Develops goals, objectives, programs, and operations that are consistent with school system vision, mission, and goals Ensures that unit and program plans are consistent with the system's strategic plan Organizes daily, monthly, and yearly schedules to facilitate learning and teaching in the schools Management of Educational Resources Selects and utilizes personnel to meet the needs of the school Administers the finances of the district with sound fiscal management and educational practices Assists with the development of the budget and makes allocations to schools in an equitable manner Achieves maximum results for available resources and money spent Understands and utilizes technology effectively Performance Responsibilities Receives and receipts all monies received by the school district Prepares and deposits all monies into the current depository Codes each deposit as to the correct fund codes so that input into the computer can be made correctly Receives all purchase orders from departments and schools Evaluates and checks each purchase order to verity vendor name, amount, and fund numbers for correct information for input into the computer Enters all purchase order information into the computer, runs edit, and checks for accuracy of input Enters into the computer any manual checks and voids checks written for the month Prepares claim dockets for Superintendent, Business Manager, and School Board Members. Claims docket is prepared after all purchase orders, manual checks, and void check information has been entered into the computer. Monitors activity funds Monitors each school's use of accounting codes Reconciles all bank statements for activity funds Maintains records of purchases and disbursements of activity fund monies Performs any other task as designated by the Superintendent, the Deputy Superintendent, the Business Manager, and the designee of the Superintendent Terms of Employment: Ten, eleven, or twelve month year. Salary and work year will be established by the Board. Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
