About The Position

The Virginia State Bar is looking for a highly professional team player with a can-do attitude to provide administrative support to the disciplinary system. In this role, you will perform challenging administrative and paralegal tasks, including researching and managing case records, issuing and tracking legal notices, orders, and official documents, generating statistical reports, monitoring cases on appeal before the Supreme Court of Virginia, preparing monthly dockets for volunteers and staff, calculating cost assessments and processing payments, and serving as clerk and bailiff at Disciplinary Board hearings. This position is required to work in the Richmond office. Employees are eligible to telework one day per week after six months. The successful candidate will have a legal background and the following requirements: • a proven self-starter who is dependable and detail-oriented • the ability to prioritize and organize work, exercise good judgment, take initiative, and work under pressure • strong verbal and written communication skills • experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat and proficiency with databases and other computer processes • comfortable working within a paperless office environment and dealing with people in person and on the phone • the ability to learn and apply Supreme Court of Virginia Rules and Regulations
