About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is growing, and we have opportunities for an Assistant CMT (Construction Materials Testing) Technician to perform field and lab testing for construction projects. This position is located in El Paso, TX. Your Impact Under general supervision, perform routine soil sampling/testing and/or laboratory testing of soil. Properly calibrate testing equipment under general supervision, perform soil, concrete and asphalt laboratory testing to confirm compliance with project specifications in accordance with established procedures Prepare and submit accurate, legible, comprehensive and complete testing reports on a daily basis in accordance with established quality procedures. Review plans, specifications, general notes and shop/working drawings for assigned activities prior to performing assigned duties Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data. Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project site. Working with cross-functional teams to execute project work. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times, so valid driver’s license is required.
  • 3+ years of experience conducting Geotechnical Testing
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
  • Must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
  • Background check is a requirement for this position.
  • Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles
  • Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold.

  • Current TxDOT Level 1A, 1B certifications
