About The Position

The Men’s Tennis Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of operating a competitive NCAA men’s tennis program. Responsibilities include assisting with practice planning, recruiting qualified student-athletes, player development, match preparation, academic monitoring, and administrative duties. The Assistant Coach is expected to uphold the mission and values of the institution and maintain compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
  • Previous collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of tennis fundamentals, training methods, and match strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop student-athletes
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting at the collegiate level
  • Knowledge of NCAA compliance rules
  • Experience with video analysis and player performance software

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions
  • Provide technical instruction and individual skill development
  • Assist with scouting reports and match strategy
  • Support recruiting efforts, including identifying prospects, communication, evaluations, and campus visits
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and promote academic success
  • Assist with scheduling, travel arrangements, equipment management, and budget oversight
  • Coordinate strength and conditioning activities in collaboration with athletic performance staff
  • Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, leadership, and personal development
  • Ensure full compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Administration
