About the position

As a Technician Assistant at WM, you will be part of a team that performs essential and meaningful work, ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet. Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
  • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
  • Assist senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.

Requirements

  • 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a repair/maintenance shop.
  • Familiarity with diesel equipment and CNG trucks.
