The Assistant Director, Financial Management Systems supports and enhances the PeopleSoft Financials (FSCM) system and other related finance applications, with a strong focus on technical development and system optimization. The Assistant Director collaborates closely with the Associate Director, Financial Systems, Reporting and Planning on system upgrades, integrations, reporting, and production support. Key responsibilities include working with PeopleTools technologies (PeopleCode, SQR, Application Engine, Integration Broker), supporting system interfaces and data integrations, troubleshooting issues, and automating processes. The Assistant Director also helps define and maintain the rules and procedures that guide how the finance systems are used and will research and make recommendations on ways to improve how the university manages financial tasks by using technology more effectively. This role partners with Information Technology Services (ITS) and Finance teams to deliver technical solutions that improve efficiency, data accuracy, and user experience. The Assistant Director also helps support system upgrades, testing new features, and system improvements. They help troubleshoot issues, assist users, and support financial reporting efforts. This role is important in connecting technical work with the needs of the finance teams and the larger university.
