Assistant Director for Apartments Reporting to the Associate Director for Residential Operations, the Assistant Director provides direction and leadership for the department's apartment communities, including undergraduate, graduate, student athlete, and international student housing with both academic year and 12-month leases. The Assistant Director supervises full-time Residence Coordinators and is indirectly responsible for additional Graduate Residence Coordinators and Resident Assistants. The Assistant Director serves as the Residential Life liaison to LSU Athletics. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE: Provides direct supervision, guidance, development, and support to 3–5 Residence Coordinators and indirectly supports Graduate Residence Coordinators and Resident Assistants serving apartment communities. Serves as a member of the Residential Education Leadership Team, contributing to the development and evaluation of a holistic Residential Life program that fosters a sense of home for upperclassmen, graduate students, student-athletes, and international students, with attention to student retention and overall success. Oversees the operational planning and coordination of apartment communities, including academic-year and 12-month housing, transition periods, and collaboration with Facilities, Assignments, LSU Athletics, and campus partners to ensure seamless service delivery. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with campus partners, including serving as the Residential Life liaison to LSU Athletics, to support housing operations and advance divisional and institutional priorities. OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEADERSHIP: Enhancing the Apartment Residential Experience As the needs of upperclassmen, graduate students, student-athletes, and international residents continue to evolve, the Assistant Director for Apartments has the opportunity to refine and strengthen apartment-specific community engagement models to ensure programs, services, and expectations reflect the current LSU student experience and the needs of these unique populations. Strengthening the Athletics Housing Partnership LSU student-athletes are the primary residents in several apartment communities on campus. As such, in serving as the primary Residential Life liaison to LSU Athletics, the Assistant Director will shape and formalize collaborative processes related to student-athlete housing, ensuring alignment between Athletics, Assignments, Facilities, and Residential Education priorities. Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement Apartment communities on campus do not close during traditional break periods, with one specific area remaining open year-round for 12-month leases and summer operations. Through oversight of apartment transitions and quality control processes, the Assistant Director has the opportunity to evaluate and enhance current systems, ensuring apartment communities consistently reflect care, polish, and attention to detail in alignment with Student Affairs priorities.
