About The Position

The Assistant Director of Engineering is part of the Engineering team and is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Hotel buildings and attending to all maintenance needs and requests. This position supports the Director of Engineering in all aspects of the Hotel's operations.

Previous experience in Engineering department head/ leadership positions.
Previous experience within a luxury hotel or similar environment.
Guest centricity and understanding of the importance of guest preferences.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle difficult situations and guests.

Nice To Haves

Professional certifications in Refrigeration and HVAC Systems is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of the hotel and physical building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire and safety, HVAC refrigeration, paint and design.
Responsible for Life/Fire safety systems, energy/green initiative systems and management of other engineering work necessary to maintain the property in an efficient condition.
Respond to all emergency conditions such as weather, fires, power failures, etc.
Implement preventive maintenance schedules and deep cleaning programs.
Resolves guests’ complaints, handling all interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
Responds to all guests’ requests in an accurate and timely manner.
