About The Position

The Assistant Director of Football Operations assists the Head Coach in organizing and managing all Division I Football program phases, including recruiting, student-athlete academic monitoring, and community/donor relations. Responsible for assisting in all phases of a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) program, which includes, but is not limited to, assisting the Assistant Athletics Director of Football Operations with staff management, NCAA compliance regulations, third-party vendor management, student-athlete housing, squad lists, team travel (ground transportation, airlines, hotels, meals, practice locations, locker room set-up, timelines) Football Budget tracking. Facility coordination, field usage, and meeting room space. Assist with on-campus recruiting visits and functions. Assist with coordination of all team travel logistics. Manage database of Student-athletes, coaches, and support staff information. Manage internal communication and distribution of daily schedules/itineraries. Assist with team, staff, and department communication and coordination. Coordination and planning of team meals. Assist with planning and execution of summer camps, clinics, and special team functions Support the head coach and the Assistant AD of Director of Football Operations with special projects. Serves as a liaison to university and community groups and works with department administration to establish game day and practice field needs, coordinates credential requests, and serves as a primary liaison to football student-athletes. Demonstrated ability to compose correspondence and reports; working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database management applications. Ability to work, communicate, and develop rapport with students, alumni, administration, and community groups. Responsible for assisting in all phases of a Division I intercollegiate football program. Must be committed to the academic goals of the university and follow the rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA and the Mountain West Conference The candidate must demonstrate awareness and experience understanding the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, abilities, cultural background, ethnicity, religion, economic background, primary language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and academic preparation – through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of Division I football operations experience
  • Applicants must demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
