About The Position

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Nursing will provide oversight to all nursing operations and personnel throughout Idaho Falls Community Hospital. The ADON will evaluate, and direct day-to-day operations for all nursing units throughout the organization. Establish goals for nursing departments, to maintain alignment with the overall strategic goals of the hospital. The ADON will coordinate with department managers for strategic planning, operational initiatives, educational needs, employee relation oversight, and maintaining compliance with accreditation and state regulations. Implement and oversee process improvements to increase overall efficiency, patient safety/satisfaction, as well as evidence-based practice initiatives to ensure high quality care is delivered by all Idaho Falls Community Hospital Health System nursing departments. Requirements

  • Current unencumbered Idaho RN license.
  • 4+ year’s nursing supervisory experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate appropriate staffing models established by DON.
  • Creates and maintains standardized processes for efficiency of patient operations utilizing the six sigma LEAN methodologies.
  • Provides oversight for all department educators and delegates tasks/projects to departmental nurse educators with the department manager.
  • Assist in the modification and training of the Electronic Medical Record. (Cerner)
  • Demonstrates effective proactive leadership within the framework of Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
  • Serves as a consultant for budgetary understanding and implementation.
  • Participates in strategic planning for nurse recruitment, nurse retention, program development and physician relations.
  • Identifies gaps in organizational learning through communication with department leaders.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates effectiveness of departments inside Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
  • Ensure that all patient care plans have the documentation necessary to provide the proper type of care.
