About The Position

The District 6 (Sagadahoc County, Lincoln County, Knox County, and Waldo County) District Attorney's Office is seeking a full-time Assistant District Attorney for District 6 for the Sagadahoc County DA's Office. The Assistant District Attorney will be primarily responsible for criminal prosecution for adults, in the Unified Criminal Docket as well as appellate cases before the Law Court and Weapons Restrictions Orders in the District Court. Candidates should have a strong desire for a career in litigation and prosecution with trial experience and developed trial skills a plus. High ethical standards, sound judgment, strong communication and inter-personal skills, good organizational/time management skills, and good writing skills are essential. A commitment to community and victim centered prosecution, public service, restorative justice as well as racial and gender justice, is essential.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be members of the Maine Bar in good standing
  • Have an eye for legal detail
  • Be interested in complex criminal legal issues
  • Have strong litigation, legal advocacy and writing skills
  • Have a demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team
