About The Position

The Assistant Feed Mill Manager supports the daily operations of the feed mill to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality feed. This role assists with supervision of mill staff, production scheduling, inventory control, quality assurance, maintenance coordination, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

High school diploma required
1-3 years leadership experience; farm and feed production experience a plus.
Ability to multi-task & set priorities.
Strong written & verbal communication skills.
Must demonstrate successful supervisory skills, writing skills, creative & effective problem-solving skills, & basic knowledge of computers & related software.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent customer service skills & attitude.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise assigned hourly Feed Mill staff, to include but not limited to hiring, training, & performance management.
Verify daily & weekly payroll time sheets for all employees in the department.
Lead & coordinate all team members & drivers to participate in the Company safety program.
Ensure drivers follow hours of service & all other governmental regulations
Manage labor & expenses to manufacture feed at a competitive cost.
Supervise a delivery operation that maintains adequate farm inventories & utilizes Service Techs for final loads.
Through communication & planning, be competitive in return & reclaim feed.
Maintain Company assets in the Feed Mill through proper maintenance.
Establish & follow a preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.
Maintain cleanliness in the Feed Mill & grounds.
Receive all ingredients properly using correct testing methods & standards; rejecting ingredients that don’t meet Peco standards.
Maintain accurate inventories of all ingredients, including FDA inventories of FDA tags.
Manufacture feed properly, keeping feed separate through sequencing, use of proper bins, & proper load-out procedures.
Comply with all Corporate and Live Operations policies.
Follow all FDA regulations and those of other governmental agencies.
Perform various special tasks as assigned by the Feed Mill Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned.
