The Opportunity This role is designed for an early-career professional who wants to learn the craft of financial advising from experienced practitioners while gaining meaningful client exposure from day one. As an Assistant Financial Advisor, you will work alongside Partners and Senior Wealth Management Advisors to support the delivery of comprehensive financial planning and investment advice to high-net-worth clients and institutions. You will participate in real client work, develop technical planning expertise, and build the communication and relationship skills essential to becoming a lead advisor. You will also join Wescott’s NextGen Advisor Development Program , which provides mentorship, structured learning, and a clear progression toward advanced advisory roles. What You’ll Do Client Relationship Support Partner with Advisors to prepare for and participate in client meetings Help maintain strong, proactive client relationships through thoughtful communication and follow-up Develop a working understanding of each client’s goals, priorities, and evolving financial needs Identify planning opportunities and collaborate with Senior Advisors on recommendations Financial Planning & Wealth Management Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive financial plans Support investment and planning strategy execution aligned with client objectives Contribute to Wescott’s quarterly client review process Analyze financial data and prepare planning materials and recommendations Team Collaboration & Growth Work cross-functionally with investment, operations, and client service teams Maintain accurate documentation and consistent use of firm systems and workflows Contribute to knowledge sharing and support team initiatives Actively engage in mentorship and professional development opportunities What Success Looks Like Within your first 12–24 months, you will: Build confidence participating in client conversations Develop technical planning proficiency across core wealth management topics Strengthen analytical and advisory communication skills Progress toward CFP® certification and expanded client responsibilities Professional Development Commitment Wescott invests in developing future advisors through: Structured mentorship from senior professionals Hands-on client exposure CFP® exam support and professional development resources A clearly defined long-term career path within the firm Why Wescott At Wescott, advising is a team sport.
