About The Position

The Assistant General Manager, Snack & Drink, will contribute to all facets of the Snack and Drink department, reporting to and providing support for the Operations Manager and/or Director concerning the Snack and Drink programs and operations. They will be responsible for the training and onsite supervision of all S&D team members, which includes providing shift coverage when necessary to ensure the smooth continuation of operations. In addition, they will be responsible for inventory and product replenishment requests for client sites with ability to uphold Just Fare standards by prioritizing delicious products that are organic, locally sourced, and procured from woman- and BIPOC-owned businesses. They will support the company's objective of decreasing waste by emphasizing bulk and in-house products over single-serve packaged products, where feasible. Although this position is based in Seattle, it may necessitate working at various locations as needed, including but not limited to the headquarters and warehouse in Oakland, travel to other client sites throughout the Bay Area, CA, as well as out-of-state locations such as New York, NY.

Requirements

  • 1+ years experience in client facing, account coordinator, events coordinator or similar role.
  • 3+ years experience in a warehousing or route delivery preferably in a food operation with a passion for food and people
  • Experience training, managing in shift activities and tasks for self and others.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, communication and patience
  • Sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of customer focus
  • Attendance and punctuality are required with schedule flexibility determined by needs
  • Ability to be a self-sufficient problem solver and make sound decisions on-the-fly
  • Basic Food Handler Certification
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation
  • Basic understanding of workplace communication tools (such as Slack, Google Drive - Docs & Sheets, Asana, etc)
  • Basic understanding of online inventory systems (Fishbowl knowledge/experience a plus!)
  • Smartphone needed for daily communications
  • Must be able to lift up to 80lbs repetitively, load and unload products from vans, pallets.
  • Must have Valid Driver License needed, and ability to drive and park sprinter vans in the city. A personal vehicle may be needed for client site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Complete order fulfillment in an efficient and safe manner, ensuring quality and efficiency standards are met.
  • Oversee all S&D team members within the assigned region (including attendants, drivers, and Leads). Ensure that all team members clearly understand their expectations and accurately fulfill their duties.
  • Review and monitor various Slack channels for questions, feedback and requests sent from the onsite attendants and drivers - respond to and escalate accordingly.
  • Exemplify a high level of customer focused and friendly approach to servicing onsite accounts on route delivery.
  • Assist with improving and enforcement of merchandising standards specific to each client site, including merchandising smallwares
  • Receive and stock vendor and other package deliveries that come to both facility locations accurately and to quality standards.
  • Participate in inventory management including proper rotation, storage, and cycle counts in warehouse and onsite at client locations.
  • Adhere to and actively participate in proper inventory storage and transport.
  • Support as a driver routes as needed, by having working knowledge of all client account routes and programs to be able to cover as a relief driver and trainer for new drivers/routes.
  • Transport and stock inventory between stockrooms, warehouses and commissary as needed.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning of warehouse facility, all S&D equipment and vans
  • Assist Snack & Drink Operations Manager with client event and activations, or other operational needs specific to snack and drink for client launches - including but not limited to preparation and setup of smallwares for the client site, snack and drink install and initial training for new hires on routes & locations.
  • Work alongside the Snack & Drink Operations manager in the further development of a fast-growing Snacks and Drink department.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks related to the Snack & Drink operation as needed
