About The Position

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is a highly organized person with excellent people skills. This position manages the Club's housekeeping and laundry operations, overseeing roughly 25 associates. This individual has a strong eye for detail and a love of hospitality. When dealing with members and staff, the best candidate will get the job done with a strong work ethic and patience. This individual should be comfortable working on the floor with the team and correcting behavior in the moment as needed. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager reports directly to the Housekeeping Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervising the housekeeping and laundry team. Leading staff through significant club-wide events. Exercise care for historical artifacts and art. Lead, manage, and accountability (LMA) for staff in the area of responsibility Hold daily and weekly meetings with direct reports, communicating relevant information, activities, and expectations at the Club. Performance management in accordance with Club policy. Be an active and dynamic recruiter of team members.

Requirements

  • Must demonstrate appropriate analytical, diligence, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to be present at work with assigned schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry industry standards.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to accept and adapt to change.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: housekeeping and/or laundry operations.
  • A minimum of 2–5 years prior experience in a private club or hospitality industry setting is preferred.
  • Must be able to complete physical work daily and be on the floor for extended periods.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill specific duties.
  • Physical requirements include Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than the whole hand(s) or arm(s).
  • Communication skills using the spoken word.
  • Ability to see within normal parameters.
  • Ability to hear within normal range.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • An undergraduate degree is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Paycom or a comparable payroll management system is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and adjust schedules for all housekeeping and laundry staff as needed.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all linen, terry, and uniforms.
  • Assist in ordering linen, terry, uniforms, laundry chemicals, and cleaning supplies within prescribed budgets throughout the year.
  • Assist with monthly departmental meetings with all housekeeping and laundry staff.
  • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with the staff.
  • Provide ongoing training to staff within industry standards.
  • Support operating departments within the Club, including Athletics and Culinary.
  • Ensure laundry production is on time and of the highest quality, including but not limited to athletic towels.
  • Conduct daily inspections in guest rooms and public spaces and make corrections with staff as needed.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping storage rooms and supply closets are stocked, neat, and orderly to the appropriate par levels.
  • Ensures all departments in the area of responsibility consistently and passionately adhere to the Club’s Consistent Performance Process (CPP) and its principles and practices.
  • Participates in ongoing facility inspections throughout the Club to ensure that cleanliness, sanitation, preventive maintenance, safety, and other standards are consistently met and attained.
  • Complies with all Club safety policies and procedures, demonstrating safe work practices.
  • Identifies and reports hazardous work conditions.
  • Reports all workplace injuries.
  • Protect, cultivate, and exhibit the DAC culture each day, exhibiting core values and the visible traits of DAC leaders.
  • Other duties to accomplish the Club's overall goals and objectives.
