About The Position

As the Assistant Manager, Airport Landside Operations, Employee Parking, you will manage the daily operations of the airport’s remote Employee Parking facilities and oversee compliance and training for the Commercial Driver License (CDL) busing program. You will oversee the 24/7 operations of Employee Parking facilities across multiple sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service. You will liaise with Construction Managers on projects affecting employee parking operations ensuring ongoing accessibility, safety, and efficiency through collaboration with contractors, facilities teams, and stakeholders. You will serve as the primary contact for facility emergencies, promptly addressing operational incidents and implementing improvements to minimize disruption. You will lead, coach, and mentor direct report(s), providing guidance and performance feedback for drivers and Landside Supervisors. You will support the operation and management of the Airport Landside Operations department by assisting with budget development, payroll oversight, scheduling, process improvement, and employee/labor relations. You will ensure systems used in Employee Parking bus operations, pre-and-post-trip inspection check lists, bus tracking, passenger counts, video systems, are operational and useful. You will oversee driver health and safety concerns on a wide variety of issues such as medical accommodation, driver ergonomic assessment, and Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification program administration. You will serve as the subject matter expert on the Defensive Driving programs, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Standards, Washington State CDL licensing regulations, and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) drug and alcohol regulations. You will maintain strong relationships and communications with all stakeholders, respond to stakeholder feedback with timely solutions, and escalate to higher levels of leadership as needed.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of experience working in airport operations or a transportation operations environment, with experience developing and implementing training curricula.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory/lead/mentor experience including leading a project or process.
  • Valid Washington State Driver License.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Washington State Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with a Passenger (P1) endorsement and a Department of Transportation Medical Certification.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Management and/or an American Association of Airport Executives Certified Manager (CM) Certification.
