About The Position

The Assistant Manager School Counseling supports the Principal of Counseling to ensure the effective delivery of the Comprehensive School Counseling Program components including guidance curriculum, individual planning, responsive services, and system support. This position provides leadership, professional development, and operational oversight to ensure high-quality counseling services, accurate student record management, and continuous program improvement. Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • Five (5) years of educational experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.)
  • Web proficiency
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check
  • Valid TX School Counselor Certification
  • Residency Requirement: TEXAS

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning, monitoring, and supporting the delivery of the Comprehensive School Counseling Program’s components to meet student academic, career, and social-emotional needs
  • Coordinates and delivers ongoing training for counselors, ensuring alignment with best practices, state standards, and departmental goals
  • Collects, analyzes and reports counseling program data to guide interventions, measure outcomes, and support decision-making
  • Oversees accurate transcription of educational records including grades, credits and transfers in compliance with district policy, state regulations, and FERPA
  • Acts as liaison between counseling staff, administration, families and community partners to promote student success
  • Assists with scheduling, workload distribution, budgeting and resource allocation for counseling activities
  • Maintains current knowledge of American School Counselors Association Ethical Standards and model professional conduct at all times
  • Directly supervises 20-40 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
