About The Position

The Assistant Merchant provides administrative and operational support to a Merchant or Senior Merchant to ensure accurate product execution and assortment management within assigned categories. This role partners closely with cross functional teams to maintain assortment integrity across both in-season and future-season assortments. Responsibilities include supporting item setup, maintaining assortment and pricing data, assisting with promotional execution, and ensuring accuracy across merchandising systems and product documentation. The Assistant Merchant plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the category, helping ensure the merchandising team can execute assortments efficiently and accurately

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Equivalent work experience will be considereddf
  • 1+ Years of experience
  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience using excel for basic (retail) math
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy across all business-critical data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively time manage
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in AX, Direct Tech, Blue Yonder, D365, Centric-PLM preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy of the assortment planning tools, including styles, colors, retails, costs, and product flow with direction from merchant
  • Own print and media proofing for categories of responsibility
  • Observe and learn in all category meetings
  • Initiate and perform additional ad hoc reports as required
  • Responsible for loading and maintaining all updates made throughout the season, in all systems (AX, D365, MAPS)
  • Manage MSRP and standard cost of goods documents, complying to SOX standards
  • Accountable for weekly email pricing and promotion documents, with guidance from merchant
  • Develop effective, collaborative cross functional partnerships
  • Schedule meetings and follow up for the team
  • Adopt organizations values in personal work behaviors, decision making, contributions and interpersonal interactions.
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
