A resume is required for consideration The Assistant Nurse Director will be responsible for: - Direct management and development of PCA staff (up to 70 FTEs). - Directing, planning, and coordinating the service activities and staffing performance of auxiliary nursing personnel in rendering quality patient care. - Ensuring the development, implementation, and evaluation of PCA staff onboarding, training, and education. - Providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback for PCA staff to support growth and accountability. - Ensures a positive work environment that is safe for patients, visitors, and staff. - Coordinating unit activities with other hospital departments of the hospital. - Developing and implementing PCA staffing plans to support safe and efficient care delivery. - Reviewing controlled substance reports and safety event reports, conducting appropriate follow-up and partnering with the Nurse Director to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous quality improvement. - Providing on-site leadership coverage for the Nurse Director team in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations, decision-making, and staff support. - Lead and participant in quality improvement projects and initiatives within the oncology service.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3 years of nursing experience required. 1-2 years of nursing leadership experience highly preferred. 1-2 years of inpatient oncology experience highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing required. Master's Degree Nursing preferred or plan for enrollment in accredited graduate level program within 2 years of employment required. This role cannot accept experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Licenses and Credentials: Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts required.
  • Nursing Certification required and must be obtained within 1st year of employment.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to clinical excellence.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of nursing leadership experience highly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of inpatient oncology experience highly preferred.
  • Master's Degree Nursing preferred or plan for enrollment in accredited graduate level program within 2 years of employment required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate preferred
