About The Position

Assistant Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operational functions of our trailer sales business, specializing in refrigerated trailers (reefers) and dry vans. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient sales support, accurate inventory control, smooth logistics, and full compliance from purchase through final delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts in a fast-paced, asset-driven environment. The selected candidate will also be required to become a notary, and Velocity Vehicle Group will assist with the process after hire.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in trailer sales, trucking, fleet operations, or heavy equipment preferred
  • Familiarity with refrigerated trailers and dry vans strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Excel and inventory, CRM, or ERP systems
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to pass post offer drug test, physical, and background check

Responsibilities

  • Sales Administration
  • Support the sales team with quotes, specifications, invoices, and customer documentation
  • Manage sales orders from deal confirmation through delivery
  • Maintain accurate customer records and transaction files
  • Handle titles, VINs, MSOs, and registration documentation
  • Manage marketing tools, including flyers, promotions, and social media support
  • Inventory & Asset Management
  • Track and maintain inventory records for new reefers and dry vans
  • Monitor VINs, specifications, pricing, condition reports, and unit availability
  • Update specifications and photos in the inventory management system
  • Coordinate inspections, repairs, detailing, and sale readiness
  • Approve purchase orders, holds, and trailer movements from the plant
  • Track inventory aging and support leadership with pricing and disposition decisions
  • Ensure all reefer units are properly registered with Thermo King or Carrier prior to sale
  • Run weekly reports on holds and quotes for internal sales and operations meetings
  • Operations & Logistics
  • Coordinate trailer pickups, deliveries, and transfers from the plant
  • Work closely with transport providers, yard personnel, and service vendors
  • Manage yard scheduling and space utilization to support efficient operations
  • Receive and check in trailers upon arrival.
  • Maintain accurate accounting and reconciliation of inventory.
