About The Position

This position assists the Pharmacy Manager oversee and control operation and productivity of Retail Pharmacy Services by collaborating with Inpatient Assistant Manager, medical staff, clinics, and the other external organizations. Provides input to the Pharmacy Manager in areas of budgeting, inventory control, record control, and policy and procedure development. Actively participates in performance improvement, staff scheduling, and timecard approval. Provides software troubleshooting and workflow improvement. Assumes duties of Pharmacy Manager during absences as they pertain to Retail Pharmacy Services. Provides leadership in personnel management within the department and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
  • Current State of Oregon pharmacist license in good standing
  • Basic Life Support
  • 3 years progressive retail experience, with additional management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to facilitate change, excellent communication, and organization skills
  • Demonstrates skills in human relations and material resource management
  • Evidence of ability to provide exceptional administrative leadership
  • Knowledge of current technology and equipment to meet patient needs
  • Computer application fluency

Responsibilities

  • Assume all responsibilities of Pharmacist In Charge for Retail Services as defined by Oregon Board of Pharmacy
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly Quality Control for all sections of Retail Pharmacy
  • Review, create, or edit policies and procedures
  • Assist in coordinating quality initiatives and process improvement
  • Assist with selection, orientation, and training new pharmacy staff and ensure competency
  • Function as a role model encouraging staff to participate in their own development
  • Demonstrate leadership skills by assisting with performance evaluations and coaching for improvement as needed

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
