Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • 6+ years of experience working in education
  • 3+ years of experience in an administrative/leadership capacity
  • Valid New York State Teaching Certification
  • 12-month school year
  • Must be available to work flexible hours (after hours, weekends, and holidays as needed)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure teachers are informed of Promise Academy's classroom expectations for instructional delivery
  • Monitor School Data and Systems
  • Participate in the hiring process for new staff
  • Collaborate with coaches to research, evaluate, and prepare recommendations on curricula, instructional methods, and participate in data meetings and materials for school systems
  • Manage the implementation of external assessment systems, including the New York State Tests and standardized tests, and use data to formulate informed decisions
  • Use data to construct and manage the implementation of student rosters
  • Attend grade team meetings and help develop instructional/behavioral strategies that evaluate student achievement
  • Monitor grade level progress and student achievement based on benchmarks
  • Collaborate with Director of Operations for ordering and security of testing materials (state tests, Regents, NYSESLAT, etc.)
  • Observe teachers and meet with them to provide feedback (formal)
  • Collaborate with admin teams from both schools to plan summer staff orientation and curriculum development period
  • Conduct Classroom Observation and feedback
  • Coordinate Team Building Outings
  • Conduct weekly Gradebook and lesson plan checks for CORE teachers
  • Oversee School scheduling
  • Serve as Testing Coordinator
  • Schedule substitute teachers/coverages
  • Manage tutor schedules
  • Review the Academic Hour/Sat Log
  • Provide supplemental instruction to scholars in need during extended learning opportunities
