About The Position

This position is under the administration of the Chief of Psychology in the Institute on Development and Disability (IDD). This is an Assistant Professor level position that will support the Cleft and Craniofacial (CCF) Clinic and the Child Development and Rehabilitation Clinics (CDRC) at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The duties of this position are in support of the mission, goals and objectives of OHSU, and the IDD/UCEDD and include: provide psychological assessment and treatment of children and adolescents seen at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital; serve on various IDD/OHSU committees as appropriate; engage in community service through teaching and consultation activities; conduct clinical research. Duties may vary to meet objectives agreed upon by the Chief of Psychology, and the academic departmental chairperson. The duties of this position include: Provide direct assessment and treatment/intervention services for children and their families served by Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, particularly the Cleft and Craniofacial (CCF) Clinic and the Child Development and Rehabilitation Clinics (CDRC). Specific duties will include: clinical program leadership (i.e., program development and quality improvement activities) within the multidisciplinary CCF and CDRC clinics and direct assessment and intervention services for children and their families through the CCF clinic and CDRC (e.g., differential diagnosis, team-based assessment, behavioral therapy, parent training). Duties also include: conducting and/or participate in clinical research and community service that supports the mission of the Division of Psychology, the mission of the IDD, and/or the mission of the Department of Pediatrics. Providing instruction to pre-doctoral psychology interns who are participating in an American Psychological Association accredited internship program. Provide consultation to the community, patients of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and to hospital staff of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in psychology with specialization in child psychology.
  • Experience working with infants, children, adolescents, and/or young adults with medical and neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Ability to complete a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized evaluation activities including developmental assessment of infants and young children (e.g., Bayley Scales of Infant Development).
  • Experience working in hospital and/or academic medical center settings and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • The candidate will have demonstrated excellence in research, education, and clinical care.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree in psychology with specialization in child psychology preferably pediatric psychology.
  • Preferred background in children with disabilities/special health care needs including pediatric psychology and/or pediatric neuropsychology and eligibility for licensure.
