About The Position

The Counseling Department at Bradley University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in the CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Professional School Counseling tracks. This position bridges academic and clinical excellence in both the on-campus and national online cohorts. The successful candidate will teach graduate counseling courses, engage in scholarly research, service, and contribute to the professional preparation of culturally responsive and ethically grounded clinical mental health counselors, and professional school counselors.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a non-profit institution by start date, CACREP-accredited program preferred
  • Licensure or license-eligibility as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) (or equivalent) in Illinois or a reciprocal state. Employment is contingent upon earning an LCPC or equivalent within 90 days of hire.
  • Familiarity with CACREP standards and accreditation processes
  • Commitment to inclusive excellence, cultural humility, and equity-focused teaching and supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with online graduate education.
  • Combined license and/or certification in Clinical Mental Health and Professional School Counseling (i.e. licensed as LCPC and certified as a PSC).
  • Documented experience teaching both clinical mental health and school counseling courses at the University level.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Neurocounseling.
  • Experience working with adult learners and mid-career professionals.
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed, relational-cultural, or spiritually integrated counseling approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a workload 3-3-2 consistent with tenure-track faculty expectations
  • Provide supervision to practicum and internship students using a multicultural, developmentally attuned framework
  • Advise and mentor graduate students on clinical readiness, site expectations, and professional identity development
  • Engage in scholarly research, publication, and professional presentations consistent with tenure-track faculty expectations
  • Participate in service to the program, department, college, and university including accreditation and curriculum development efforts
  • Uphold a commitment to equity, access, and culturally responsive pedagogy and supervision
  • Collaborate across online and on-campus modalities to support student success and strengthen program-community partnerships
