About The Position

The incumbent will be appointed at the rank of non-tenure earning Assistant Professor on the clinical educator track in the Cerebrovascular Division, Department of Neurology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He/she will have a strong clinical and research background in Cerebrovascular Diseases. The incumbent will be involved in the clinical care of patients at the UHealth clinics, University of Miami Hospital, and Jackson Memorial Hospital. He/she will provide 1-2 outpatient sessions, and 18-20 weeks of inpatient service at Jackson South Medical Center, Jackson West Medical Center, and Jackson Memorial Hospital, and UHealth Tower if needed. The incumbent will also participate in the research projects as well as educational and mentorship activities of the Cerebrovascular Division and the Department of Neurology.

Requirements

  • Requires an MD degree from a recognized accredited University (or foreign equivalent).
  • Cerebrovascular Fellowship is also required and board certification in Neurology is strongly recommended.
  • Eligible for Florida Medical License.
  • Good communications skills (face to face, over the phone and in writing)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other employees.
  • Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Care for patients in the UHealth and Jackson Health System outpatient settings
  • Care for patients in the Jackson Health System inpatient settings
  • Train/mentor physicians, staff
  • Preparation and presentation at teaching conferences
  • Develop a research program in Cerebrovascular Diseases
  • Obtain data and results that can be used to submit an application for future clinical research awards
