About The Position

Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a full-time Diabetologist/Endocrinologist at the rank of Assistant Professor to work in the Adult Division. The Center provides state-of-the-art diabetes care to over 2,500 adults with type 1 diabetes or insulin requiring type 2 diabetes. This is a position requiring an enthusiasm for medical research and knowledge or interest in type 1 diabetes. A combination of previous clinical and research experience, diverse talents and excellent interpersonal skills is required. The Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes (BDC) is the largest diabetes institute in the world specializing in type 1 diabetes research and care for children and adults. Over 200 employees, including clinicians, clinical researchers, basic biomedical scientists and supporting staff work at the BDC to find the most effective treatment, prevention, and/or cure for type 1 diabetes. Requirements

  • M.D. licensed to practice in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person or tele-health diabetes care to newly diagnosed and established adult patients with type 1 diabetes.
  • Conduct phone consultations with patients and other physicians in the community.
  • Educate patients in diabetes management.
  • Determine appropriate options in resolving complicated inquiries and/or issues.
  • Work with EPIC (Electronic Computer Charting).
  • Participate in research protocols related to type 1 diabetes.
  • Maintain and contribute to the high standards of an existing diabetes program.
