About The Position

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Delaware invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Artificial Intelligence. Applicants should have outstanding research contributions to AI and machine learning methodologies with impactful applications and the potential to deliver courses that bridge the foundations in signal processing, digital and physical systems, probability, and statistics to emerging and future AI technologies. About UD and ECE UD is a Carnegie R1 research university, and the College of Engineering consistently ranks among the nation’s top 50 programs. ECE offers undergraduate programs in electrical engineering, computer engineering, and cybersecurity engineering, and a newly launched Bachelor’s program in Artificial Intelligence Engineering. Research in ECE is often interdisciplinary, both within the College and across the University. Research areas of particular relevance include biomedicine, communications, controls, data science, high-performance computing, imaging, information retrieval, machine learning, neuroscience, robotics, signal processing, and remote sensing. UD’s Data Science Institute, the First State AI Institute, and interdisciplinary graduate programs foster a collaborative environment in research and education. Modern teaching and research facilities include space at UD’s FinTech Innovation Hub, shared with the Department of Computer and Information Sciences.
