About The Position

West Virginia University located in Morgantown, WV, is seeking a non-tenure track (12-month) Assistant Professor for the Division of Physician Assistant Studies in the Department of Human Performance in the School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be a principal faculty member, and contribute to a well-established, fully accredited program with a tradition of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The successful candidate will also serve as an academic advisor to students in the program and participate in the admissions process through screening, interviewing, and rating of applicants. The program is administratively housed within the School of Medicine’s Health Professions unit, which is home to over 2,100 students enrolled in degree programs including exercise physiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, athletic training, medical laboratory sciences, immunology and medical microbiology, respiratory therapy, communication sciences and disorders, pathologists’ assistant and health informatics/health information management. The physician assistant program reports to the vice-dean for health professions in the School of Medicine. Morgantown is within easy traveling distance of Washington, DC, to the east, Pittsburgh, PA, to the north, and Cleveland and Columbus, OH, to the northwest. Requirements

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • Have a Physician Assistant license for West Virginia or be eligible for a West Virginia licensure
  • Hold current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA) certification
  • Two (2) years of experience in physician assistant education. Experience may be didactic and/or clinical in nature.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
